OSU Scientists Visit International Programmes Office at KNUST

As part of our scientific visit to Ghana, our Oregon State University team had the opportunity to pay a courtesy visit to the International Programmes Office (IPO) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on May 12, 2025.

We were led by Dr. Robyn Leigh Tanguay, Distinguished Professor in the College of Agricultural Sciences, and accompanied by Dr. William Stubblefield and Dr. Lisa Truong from the Department of Environmental and Molecular Toxicology. We were introduced to the IPO by Dr. Alexander Quarteng and received warmly by Professor Daniel Y. A. Duah, Dean of IPO, alongside members of the IPO team and faculty.

During our time at KNUST, we also hosted a seminar on May 14 titled:

  • Advancing Human and Environmental Health through High-Throughput Discovery of Gene-Environment Interactions in Zebrafish
  • Predicting Ecological Effects from Laboratory and Field-Based Tools: Applying Risk Assessment Techniques to Abandoned Mine Sites

We are thankful for the opportunity to exchange ideas, explore collaborative opportunities, and continue building bridges in global scientific research.
